As the winter months come round, we’re all thinking about how to keep our homes cosy.

At Connect, we’re on a journey to make homes more energy efficient, which means they’ll be easier to keep warm and comfortable.

You might hear this work being called ‘retrofit’, but that just means home improvement works. This could include insulation, new windows and doors, draught proofing, and maybe even solar panels and heat pumps.

We’re investing millions of pounds into this work over the next 25 years, prioritising the homes which are least efficient first.

If we reach out to you about these improvements, we’d really value your cooperation to get the job done smoothly, with as little disruption to your life as we can manage.

We’ll start by assessing your home to make sure we make the right improvements which deliver the biggest benefits for you and the planet. By allowing us into your home, you’re helping us to make a difference for you and your communities.

Tips to reduce your energy bills

  • Reduce your boiler flow temperature a little bit. 50°C-60°C if your boiler heats your water. If you have a water tank, don’t go below 60°C.
  • Close your curtains as soon as the sun starts to set – you lose a lot of heat through windows.
  • Leave your oven door open after using it to let the heat escape into the house.
  • Setthethermostatbetween18°Cand21°C, any hotter and it costs a lot more money.
  • Set a schedule so that you only heat your home when you’re in.
