Current Opportunities

Sheltered Housing Scheme Manager

20 hours per week*

We are now looking to recruit a Scheme Manager to assist in the day to day running of the Hawthorn Mill Sheltered Housing Scheme.

Providing an effective, efficient and sensitive housing related support service to people aged 55 and over to maintain independent living, your duties will include; making daily contact with tenants to check on their well-being, proving support to those who are unwell or require support in accessing services, enabling clients to remain in their own homes as independently as possible.

In addition, you will encourage tenant liaison and participation in the activities of Hawthorn Mill and be responsible for completing health and safety and compliance testing, raising and monitoring repairs issues and providing help and support with financial issues such as rent accounts and benefits.

About you

You will have experience with older people/sheltered housing tenants or working with community based agencies. Able to work on your own initiative, manage your time and prioritise your workload, you will ideally have experience of housing management or knowledge of housing association practices.

Previous experience or understanding of health and safety/compliance issues, welfare rights benefits, finances and rent accounts would be advantageous.

Dementia Housing Support Worker

37 hours per week
Connect Housing are looking for someone to join their Engage Leeds team, delivering high quality, customer focused, responsive and accountable support to those accessing the service.

In the role you will deliver housing-related support to people living with Dementia to prevent homelessness, facilitate sustainment, integration, and promote self-resilience.

Assisting the Team Leader and Engage Leeds Partners to develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders and local community partners, you will ensure service provision is sensitive to the needs of others, promoting empowerment, self-resilience and respecting individual dignity and self-esteem.

About you

We are looking for applicants who have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and enjoy supporting others. With experience of working in a housing / support environment and understanding the issues faced by people living with Dementia, you will be an excellent listener with exceptional communication and problem solving skills who is be able to influence others, work under their own initiative and under pressure.

Able to understand the issues and challenges faced by people living with dementia, and their carers, you’ll have the capability to identify and provide practical and emotional support and have knowledge of best practice to Safeguarding adults, data protection and confidentiality.

2 x Electricians

Connect Housing are looking to recruit two Electricians to join our busy friendly team, making a difference to the lives of our tenants and customers The role is based in Dewsbury, covering West Yorkshire.

Joining our Team, you will provide an effective and efficient service, delivering day to day repairs in tenanted and vacant properties, carrying out all types of electrical fixes as well as pre-planned upgrade works.

Multi Skilled in other trade disciplines too (e.g. joinery, plumbing), you will provide a high level of customer care, ensuring our tenants are left with a positive impression of the service and Connect.

Candidates will be able to show time served, or have a craft apprentice with substantial experience of electrical works to include circuits and outlets, rewires, periodic testing and additions to existing installations. With demonstrable experience of working in occupied properties, you’ll hold a relevant membership with a professional association, be City & Guilds / NVQ3 and 18th Edition Qualified and hold a full driving licence.
