Our approach to addressing conflict in neighbourhoods

Here at Connect, our vision is that your neighbourhood will be somewhere where you can lead a happy, healthy life.

But we know that sometimes problems crop up and a small minority of people spoil things for others through their noisy, disruptive, or sometimes, criminal behaviour.

We also know that sometimes there is conflict, and behaviours that make it difficult to relax and enjoy your home.

This is why we have two policies that make clear Connect’s approach if this happens.

Connect’s Conflict Resolution Policy sets out how we will work with customers when there is conflict between neighbours.

We know from experience that what works when there is conflict is people resolving things themselves.

We also know that where there is anti-social behaviour, hate crimes or hate related incidents (ASB) – then Connect needs to act quickly.

More details about how Connect deals with ASB can be found in the Anti-Social Behaviour, Hate Crime and Hate Related Incidents policy.

Not all anti-social behaviour is a crime, but where it is then you should report it to the police to investigate, as well as to Connect as your landlord.

For more information on how we address incidents and support victims, please read our leaflets:
