Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas that has no smell or taste. Breathing it in can make you unwell and it can kill if you’re exposed to high levels. Symptoms can range from headaches and drowsiness to loss of consciousness. This is why it is so important to allow us access to service your gas appliances.
The service takes no longer than 45 minutes. If you have pre-payment, you will need sufficient credit on gas and electricity meters for the gas service to be carried out.
Our engineers will check all gas appliances in your home (including, for example, a gas cooker, if you have one). If any appliance is found to be unsafe, it will be disconnected from the supply, and a legal warning notice attached. If the appliance is owned by you – our engineers will do a visual check only due to it is your responsibility to have the appliance serviced and have the appliance repaired or replaced at your own expense if necessary.
Our gas contractors – Sure Group – will contact you when the service is due. If you are unable to make the appointment – please call Sure Group on 0300 5000 600 option 1.
Sure Group will provide you with a gas safety certificate which will contain details of any defect identified and any remedial action taken at that time.
