Residents to be surveyed by Connect over next 12 months

Over the next 6 months Connect Housing will be hearing from residents on how they’re doing as a housing provider. What are they doing wrong? What are they doing right? How can they improve? Their answers will help form the Tenant Satisfaction Measures, a new standard introduced by the Regulator of Social Housing to assess social housing landlords.

What are the Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs)?

Announced last year, The Regulator of Social Housing has introduced the TSMs so that social housing landlords can be assessed on how well they are doing. There are 6 areas which Connect will be asking residents for feedback on. They are:

  • Overall satisfaction
  • Keeping properties in good repair
  • Maintaining building safety
  • Respectful and helpful engagement
  • Effective handling of complaints
  • Responsible neighbourhood management

The aim of the TSMs is to make social housing landlords’ performance visible and easy to access for residents. By seeing how their landlord is performing they can hold them to account.

What’s next for Connect Housing and the TSMs

From 1st April 2023, Connect Housing will begin surveying residents on the TSMs. Over a period of 12 months, they will be contacting all residents by email, text or phone call. The results will be fed back to the Regulator of Social Housing, who will assess them and make them available to view publicly.

Head of Change, Business Intelligence and Communications, Richard Baggott, said:

The Tenant Satisfaction Measures are a great opportunity to understand how our tenants feel about Connect and the services we offer. This is a real chance for our tenants to make a difference and I would encourage everyone to take a spare a few minutes when they get offered a survey to give us feedback.
