New homes proposed for Newsome

We’re redeveloping the former Newsome Mill site into a range of high quality, energy-efficient homes.

Newsome Mill

We hope to redevelop the entire site and breathe fresh life into what remains of the historical building in the heart of Newsome Village.

The historical textile mill, located on Ruth Street in Huddersfield, dates back to 1827. It closed in 1983 and has since been damaged by fire, vandalism and anti-social behaviour.

Public consultations on the redevelopment plans were held in March, with great feedback and positive comments from many members of the community.

If you’d like to leave some feedback on the proposals, you can do so using the form at the bottom of this page.
