Details revealed for Connect In Bloom competition

Bringing colour, creativity, and community spirit to homes across West Yorkshire, we can now reveal the details of our exciting gardening contest – Connect in Bloom!

There will be a total of three categories to enter, each with a fabulous gift voucher prize for the winner and runner up.

You can enter a maximum of two categories. Submissions for the competition open on Monday 29 June 2026 and the deadline is Yorkshire Day on 1 August 2026. While that may seem a while away, it gives you time to take plenty of pictures from before and during your gardening efforts, so we can see the full transformation between now and summer! Full details for how to submit your entries will be in the next magazine, on our website and social media.

The Connect in Bloom categories are:

Greatest Transformation

£100 voucher first prize and £25 voucher runner-up prize.

This will be awarded to the best private or communal garden that has gone from looking a little neglected to being a tidy, usable space.

Growing Together

£100 voucher first prize and £25 voucher runner-up prize.

This award will go to the best communal area or garden where a community has come together to make it a beautiful space. This isn’t just aimed at our community groups – any streets and schemes with a small area can get involved.

Golden Trowel

£100 voucher first prize, £50 voucher second prize, and £25 voucher third.

This award will go to the garden/outdoor space that’s best in show! This can be anything from a garden or shared space to a balcony or window box display.
