A new chapter for the Connect Resident’s Federation

Thanks and gratitude were offered to long-standing Connect Resident’s Federation members recently as they stepped down. Their fantastic work over the years has paved the way for a new start at the CRF.

At the CRF Annual General Meeting in July, a number of members stepped down from the CRF Committee. They told us:

After a year of reflection it’s time to concentrate on other things that are important to us and welcome new members, with new ideas, for a new CRF.

The great work of the outgoing committee was celebrated with a video, made by Connect staff, in which appreciation was expressed for their hard work and achievements over many years. Watch it here.

This is a significant change, and it seems timely to review how the CRF operates in its role as Connect’s ‘critical friend’ and how it links into the overall governance and scrutiny of Connect. We will be seeking views on this over the coming months.

Director of Neighbourly Places, Christine Fox, thanked the CRF on behalf of Connect’s Board and Leadership Team noting the committee had worked tirelessly over many years to shape, influence and improve services for customers. She went on to say:

You have brought the voice of residents right to the heart of Connect, into the boardroom, shaping Connect’s strategic priorities and plans; and we will continue to support a new CRF to continue to do that.

Following this news, we are now looking to recruit new residents to the CRF Committee, in the hope that – with some support and guidance from Connect – residents will be able to follow up the excellent work carried out by the departing Committee members, and continue to hold us to account and being the voice for our residents.

If you would like to find out more about joining the Committee, please don’t hesitate to contact the Tenant Engagement team via 0300 5000 600 and ask for Oliver or Lisa. Or email us via:

Finally, Connect offer an array of resident involvement opportunities (not just the CRF) and we’re always on the lookout for new recruits. We believe there is something for everyone, regardless of your availability. If you want to explore this in more detail, please head to:, fill in the form, and we’ll be in touch.
