We’ve partnered with with Concorde Homes to create good quality homes for the Batley community.

In Autumn 2025, we broke ground on Healey Lane, with plans to build 19 affordable, energy efficient and low-carbon homes, part-funded by Homes England.

The Healey Lane project will create two- and three-bedroom homes, built to generous space standards, with access to schools, public transport and the Batley town centre nearby.

The new properties will boast additional features such as solar panels and air source heat pumps, keeping them off gas and environmentally friendly.

Current expectations are for the homes to be finished in the second half of 2026, ready for their new residents, who will be allocated on a needs first basis.

Timeline of works

Good progress has been made across the site during March. Roofing and solar panels have been completed on Plots 6 - 9. Insulation has been installed in Plots 1 - 5 and 10 - 19, preparing the buildings for internal works.

Internal boarding and plastering has begun and been completed in a couple of plots. External wall construction is progressing well, with several plots now complete and others nearing completion. Staircases have also been installed in Plots 1 - 5.

Upcoming works

Over the coming weeks, works will include installing underfloor heating and floor screed in Plots 6 - 9, completing remaining brickwork, installing the remainder of the windows and doors, and continuing internal works, including first fix electrical and mechanical installations and plastering.

Timber frame installation has now commenced on the final blocks.

Plot drainage works are underway for Plots 6-9, and screed has been completed to Plots 1-5.

Plots 10-19 have made good progress, with internal works now taking shape. Studwork is in place to form the internal walls, staircases are being installed, and first fix electrical and plumbing works are now complete.

External front doors have also been fitted to approximately 70% of the properties.

Brickwork is progressing well, with Blocks E and F now up to second lift level. Brickwork has also started on Blocks A, G and H. Stonework on Block A is up to ground floor level, with Blocks G and H progressing to cill level.

Roof works have been completed on Blocks G and H, and roofs and solar installation are progressing on Blocks A and B. Windows and doors have now been installed to Blocks A and B.

Internally, the screed and underfloor heating have been installed to Blocks E, F, G and H.

Groundworks to Block C are progressing, with the footings completed and the block and beam floor now installed.

Overall, despite the wet weather things are moving well and we are still on track for completion later in the year.
