Coronavirus Cases Increasing in West Yorkshire

Most of you will be aware that various parts of West Yorkshire have been areas of concern regarding an increase in the number of Coronavirus cases being reported, with local lockdowns affected parts of Kirklees, Calderdale and Bradford. The latest information we have is that the Leeds area as a whole is increasing and could be joining the Government concern list in the coming days.

At this stage, there are no plans to retreat into lockdown, however if the current upward trend continues, that could be a real possibility. This is though, a timely reminder that we should all be doing everything we can to keep the spread of the virus contained;

  • Good hand hygiene – regular washing for at least 20 seconds.
  • The use of Face coverings in shops and indoor public spaces.
  • Social Distancing and meeting outdoors wherever possible.
  • Isolation and Testing if displaying symptoms
  • Ventilation when meeting indoors.
  • Minimising the use of public transport.

There are no immediate plans to change the way that Connect are currently working. Where we are meeting with customers face to face for any reason, we are taking the necessary precautions including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as face masks and gloves.

We will adhere to Government guidelines is further lockdowns, either on a local or national level are announced and will update you if there is a requirement to change our plans.

Please ensure you are doing what you can to minimise the risk to you and others, and stay safe.
