Connect – Risk Assessment for COVID-19
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Connect Housing has put a lot of thought and effort into updating our policies and risk assessments to keep you and our staff as safe as we can. We have taken all issues into account and developed an appropriate response where necessary.
We have been keeping you up to date via the website and social media, and would now like to take the opportunity to update you on our C-19 risk assessments. This is an important piece of work which ensures that we are keeping our tenants, service users and colleagues as safe as we can in the current circumstances, whilst still delivering our important services to the high standard we pride ourselves on. It also serves as an explanation for why some of our services are operating slower than you might like at the moment, and why some services are paused for the time being.
We have provided the name of the risk assessment carried out, followed by a short description of how this may affect you.
1. Delivery of Repairs.
We are focusing on emergency repairs but will carry out non-essential works when it is safe to do so. Appointments will be made in advance and technicians will wear the appropriate PPE and maintain 2m social distancing at all times. They will also clean surfaces and use hand sanitiser. Vehicles and equipment will be regularly sanitised. You must let us know if anyone in the household develops symptoms before the appointment so that we can rearrange.
2. Office Working
Our offices remain closed to customers. Staff will continue to work from home where possible. Where it is essential to work from the offices, all Government regulations will be followed. Additional cleaning of offices will continue.

3. Providing Services in our Neighbourhoods
Services will be delivered by phone or electronically where possible. We have established additional touch point cleaning. Staff will wear appropriate PPE and follow Government regulations when essential visits occur. Some services will remain suspended until Government restrictions are lifted.
4. Supported & Sheltered Housing
Services will be delivered by phone or electronically where possible. Staff will wear appropriate PPE and follow Government regulations when necessary. Restrictions have been put in place to ensure social distancing and to support those who are self-isolating.
We will continue to review our risk assessments and services as lockdown restrictions are slowly eased. We would like to emphasise that our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of tenants, service users and colleagues.
