Parking safely and considerately
Across Yorkshire, parking can be a challenge – especially in neighbourhoods with communal spaces or on-street parking.
We know this can be a real problem, and we’ve recently received feedback from residents on a range of parking issues, such as cars blocking access routes, vehicles parked on junctions, and the difficulty in finding spaces close to home.
We truly appreciate that most residents park considerately, and we know no one intends to cause a problem. However, even occasional parking in the wrong place can create safety risks – particularly for older residents, wheelchair users, and emergency services.
We kindly ask everyone to:
- Use their driveway if they have one before using communal spaces.
- Park away from corners, junctions, and turning areas.
- Avoid blocking pavements, dropped kerbs, or access points.
- Speak with visitors about parking considerately.
If parking is a regular issue where you are, please get in touch by emailing hello@connecthousing.org.uk. We’d really welcome your feedback so we can better understand the situation.
