An easy Christmas recipe for some festive snacks
Method
STEP ONE
Heat the butter, syrup and sugar together in a small saucepan until melted, stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool down slightly.
STEP TWO
Mix together the flour and ginger in a large bowl. Pour in the melted syrup mixture and stir to combine. Use a spoon to bring it together into a dough.
STEP THREE
Put the dough out onto a sheet of baking paper and cover it with another sheet of baking paper. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a large rectangle around ½ cm thick. Chill in the fridge for 1 hr.
STEP FOUR
Heat the oven to 170C or gas 5, and line a baking tray with more baking paper. Remove the dough from the fridge and cut out shapes using a cookie cutter or knife to fashion yourself a Christmas tree or your favourite festive shape.
STEP FIVE
Place the shapes, spread apart, on the lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 mins. Leave to cool completely on the baking tray, then enjoy!
