As the government has increased the urgency of its advice to protect each other and the NHS by minimising contact of any sort, in response to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are posting this to update you about changes to our approach to  home visits. Please be aware of a Coronavirus school meals scam. It appears that a number of scam emails to parents have been circulating stating: \"If your child’s school is closed and your child is entitled to free school meals; then to send your bank details to the school and they will help you with funding while schools are closed”. The links are fake and vulnerable families may be giving their bank details on line. DO NOT send your bank details. Fraudsters stop at nothing and follow trends to trick you. Connect Housing is constantly monitoring the situation regarding the Coronavirus outbreak and, as a responsible landlord and employer, endeavouring to take appropriate action. In line with advice about minimising gatherings, our offices in Leeds and Dewsbury are closed to the public We have also taken the decision to close down Thrive, our community space and café in Dewsbury for the foreseeable future. Our employees are now largely working remotely to encourage social distancing and we are adopting new ways to engage, support and communicate with our tenants, customers and service users. With the situation and advice regarding the Coronavirus outbreak changing frequently, Connect is now encouraging social distancing to reduce the chance of spreading the virus between ourselves and our customers. This action is being taken now as a preventative measure. There is no specific threat and we are not aware of any Connect employees as having the virus or being asked to self-isolate.
