Our Crackenedge project provides support for six people with mental health needs in temporary accommodation. Staff are based at the project during office hours (Monday to Thursday between 9.00am and 7.00pm, Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm, Saturday between 9.00am and 3.00pm). The service also supports two tenants living in independent furnished properties with temporary tenancies.
Who would use the project?
Those who apply come to the project for a variety of reasons, such as:
-
a mental health diagnosis
-
recently been discharged from hospital
-
never had their own tenancy before
-
homelessness
-
needing help with daily living skills such as budgeting and cleaning
-
wanting to find their own permanent accommodation.
Crackenedge is located in the Dewsbury area and within walking distance of the city centre. There are individual rooms and all are furnished. The shared communal areas are the lounge, kitchen, toilets, bathroom, shower rooms, laundry room and games room (which has a pool table). The grounds are monitored by CCTV 24hrs a day.
