With over 1300 older people living in our properties, our services for older people are an essential part of our work.

We provide over 700 older people’s properties in Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield, some with Scheme Managers, who provide a housing-related support service. Other schemes are equipped to take community alarm call service linked to Care Ring (Leeds).

We also have Support Workers who can support you in your own home whether or not you are a tenant of Connect.

Emergency Alarm Service	Most housing for older people comes equipped with an Emergency Alarm Service to provide essential back up support in a personal emergency. If the alarm is activated a call is placed to a 24 hour call centre who will respond and, if necessary, contact your next of kin or the emergency services. You need to keep them up to date with any changes in next of kin contacts, GPs, your medical conditions and telephone numbers.

Older People Support Scheme	If you need some help to maintain your tenancy..... In Kirklees. phone 01484 353 530. to speak to a member of our independent living team. They can offer practical and emotional support. In Leeds phone 0113 285 0400 and ask for our Support worker for older people who supports people over the age of 55. In Calderdale & Wakefield. Although we don’t provide any direct support services in these areas we may be able to assist you in receiving support from other providers. phone 01484 353 530 for advice.
