A ‘mutual exchange’ is when one housing association or Council tenant exchanges their tenancy for another, and there’s a new UK-wide service which makes it easy to find just the tenancy you’re looking for. And it’s free for Connect tenants!
The service is called Homeswapper, and their website, at www.homeswapper.co.uk|, has over 200,000 registered customers. Previously, it would have cost £7.99 for a 90-day subscription, but now that Connect has joined the Homeswapper service it is completely free for our tenants to register. If you have previously registered, you can cancel your account and rejoin for free.
Completed registrations are sent to us to approve (there are a few reasons we might not approve a new registration, such as rent arrears), and once approved the system will automatically match your requirements to available properties. You can even set it up to alert you by text or email. So if you’ve been thinking about moving, this is a good place to start!
