Passion 4 Fashion comes to Leeds!
Passion 4 Fashion will see local housing providers and Leeds City Council getting together to create a one-off fashion show that promises to be the social event of the year!
People between the ages of 17 and 30 with an interest in fashion have been getting busy at a series of workshops in Leeds this March, working with cutting-edge local designers to design and create their own catwalk outfits.
Once you’ve come up with your unique design, you’ll be given a budget of £25 to go and dig out those charity shop gems that can be dyed, sprayed, sewed and customised into an individual piece of brilliance! There are no limits on the outfits – the wilder the better! Our team of designers will be there to provide expert tuition throughout the workshops, helping you to learn new skills.
We’re hoping that discovering these new skills could lead to training or employment options for our lucky participants, and there will be professionals in attendance throughout to offer help and advice.
Passion 4 Fashion will culminate in a fantastic fashion show opened by the Lord Mayor at Leeds Town Hall on 21 April 2011. Participants will get to model their creations in front of an audience filled with family and friends, and maybe even the odd celebrity! Entertainment will also be provided on the night by various community and youth groups from across the city.
There’s a blog you can follow at passion4fashionleeds.wordpress.com, and there’s Twittering too at twitter.com/P4FLeeds. Have a look!
