Connect is committed to investing in our communities, and that means investing in young people. It is vital that we create opportunities for our bright, ambitious successors to gain the skills and experience which will help them achieve their full potential as individuals.
We place a real importance on investing in young people and we have made a commitment that apprentices will account for 10% of our workforce. Above all though, we strive to give our apprentices a quality experience. This was recognised at the recent Leeds Apprenticeship Awards 2015 where we were named ‘Employer of the Year’.
‘Connect Housing has many good reasons for employing apprentices,’ said Helen Lennon, Connect’s Director of Neighbourhoods & Communications. ‘Firstly, we have a long tradition of investing in young people to give them the best chance of maximising their potential in life. Secondly, we see our purpose as contributing to thriving communities which includes offering local employment and enterprise initiatives for people of all ages. Finally, we are excited by the energy and challenge that apprentices new to our industry bring to our business.’
