Describe the experience/qualifications you have:
I have a BA (Dunelm) from the University of Durham and a Diploma in Housing Management. I have worked in the housing and support sector for 40+ years. A CEO for over 13 years, and have previously worked in a senior operational role in a national housing association. I was also a trustee of the HACT (Housing Association Charitable Trust) from 1991-97 and Vice Chair for 1996-97, Chair of Housing Options (a charity advising people with learning disabilities and their families) from 1998-2010, and Member of the NHF Care and Support Advisory Group from 2001-11.
Describe the strengths you feel you bring to the Board:
I work from the basis that organisational strength is based on the people, both those who use its services and those employed. The duty of those leading Connect is to tap into and release the experience and skills of all those people to the benefit of us all. I also have extensive experience in the supported housing sector and in business planning and strategy, developing organisational cultures.
